CACTX orchestrates Texas’ response to incidents of child abuse and victimization and leads the way in ending child sexual abuse in Texas by educating Texas communities and stewarding a statewide network of children’s advocacy centers charged with guiding impacted children and families toward safety, justice, and healing. Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) in Texas are independent organizations operating in diverse communities across the state. While each CAC operates independently, all CACs are part of a collective network, sharing the intent to serve every child with every needed service at the highest standard of care. We are committed to ensuring the support and protection of children from further harm when they’ve been impacted by abuse and violence. This is achieved through the orchestration of an effective response whenever children are victimized. In each case, the child’s safety, justice, and healing are actively prioritized through child-centered case coordination and timely support services.
CACTX is contractually obligated by our funders to conduct fiscal and programmatic monitoring activities for all CACs in Texas. This requirement serves to strengthen our network as a whole and ensure that all children in the state of Texas have access to the same level of trauma-informed services.
